  • “Thank you Flutters of Hope for all that was done while I was battling my eating disorder.

While in residential treatment, I often had days where I thought the fight was no longer worth it, I felt as though my eating disorder had got the best of me and I had learned to accept it. However, Mrs. Marron and her daughter, at Flutters of Hope Inc., were able to restore my strength and reassure me that the fight was worth fighting. I received beautiful gifts, while in treatment, with a sweet message that gave me the extra push of motivation that I needed. I truly can say that if it weren't for the support of Mrs. Marron, for not only myself but my family as well, then I would not be at the place I am at in my recovery today. Thank you so much to Flutters of Hope for the continuous love and support for all those battling any type of mental illness/eating disorder. “

  • “My daughter was diagnosed a “Severe Restrictive Anorexic,” ”

5 years ago, at the age of 17 years. I did not know anything about this disease or how to help her. I found Cheryl Marron at Flutters of Hope Inc. She was an excellent resource for information regarding this disease. She shared her knowledge as well as her own experiences in understanding Anorexia. A basket filled with love was sent to my daughter when she was hospitalized. It was then I knew we were not alone. Cheryl and her daughter have given me and my daughter the hope that someday recovery is possible. Until then, I am grateful for the ongoing support from Cheryl and other parents in the Flutters of Hope support group. Sincerely, Mom in Ballston Spa.”

  • “Cheryl Marron arrived at our home in the spring of 2020,

with a mask on and a beautiful crate filled with cheerful and comforting gifts for our 12 year old daughter who had just been discharged from the hospital. We were feeling so alone and isolated as we fought to save our child from anorexia and bulimia during a pandemic. Cheryl’s visit gave us strength, hope and validation in one of the darkest moments of our life. Since that first meeting I have attended Cheryl’s support group for parents and have received the Flutter’s of Hope Grant for treatment expenses. We are so grateful to Cheryl, Annalise and the generous supporters of the Flutters of Hope organization.”

  • “Cheryl, I can not express how grateful I am for you and Annalise.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and knowledge. I spent hours reading and learning from the resources on your website, watched the fb live video, and was so moved by Annalise’s story I now see what my son is dealing with so differently. For the first time in a very long time, I feel stronger and can do what I must to help my son. You have given me the most amazing gift of your experience and knowledge, knowledge is so powerful. Before we spoke I did not feel strong enough, and my own anxiety was getting the best of me, but today I can breathe easier. Having a better understanding and knowing that I have the resources you have gathered to refer too is the greatest gift I could ever ask for. Thank you with all of my heart.”

  • “I am so grateful for the Butterfly Wish Grant.

I received to help offset the cost of my daughter's counseling sessions, as part of her eating disorder recovery. The story is a familiar one - many providers do not accept our insurance, and we couldn't wait to get in with one who did, as my daughter needed help immediately. My choice was to pay of out pocket, which created a financial burden on my single-family household. Thanks to Flutters of Hope, this burden has been relieved, and is one less obstacle to overcome on my daughter's path to recovery. We all know it is a long path. Cheryl's empathy and kind words also meant a lot to me, and it's so heartwarming to know there's a community out there that I can turn to for emotional support. Thank you Flutters of Hope!”

  • “Flutters of Hope has been there to support my family through our daughter, Bailey’s struggle with an eating disorder.

Bailey’s struggle with an eating disorder. Most recently, they issued us a Butterfly Wish Grant. We are so thankful for the support. It is always important to have support from people that are going through what you are because you can find yourself feeling alienated when fighting the fight along side your loved one. When Bailey was in Albany Medical Center in the refeeding program, she was given a Butterfly Wish Basket. It was the first time she smiled while in there. Thank you Flutters of Hope! -The Conners Family”

  • Last Day in Albany Medical Center

Good Morning! I am emailing you on my last day at Albany Medical Center. I just want to say thank you for donating that basket, it truly meant a lot. It made me feel like I truly wasn't alone and the struggle didn't have to be as hard as it was. As a very active person, being cooped up in a hospital for a week has not been easy to say at the least, but all your activities you included in the basket definitely did help. The coloring book and colored pencils I used mostly everyday. The elephant I would heat up each night before bed for comfort and the great smell of lavender it gave off. This basket really brightened my day and supplied me with things to do when I was on the edge of literally going crazy. I am extremely inspired by you and hope that you can continue to touch other's hearts just like mine. There are no other words than, I can't thank you enough.

    Thank you,

  • Reminder that people care about you

I received a care package filled with activities, blankets, and personal care items that brightened my day and made my stay at the hospital less intimidating. The baskets are well put together and thoughtful leaving people much like myself, who were down and bored while being alone with things to do and a reminder that people care about you

  • My Son Just Received this basket

My son just received this basket and he absolutely loves it! Sensory items, a blanket, games, etc. I couldn’t have asked for a better package if I had personalized it myself. (And I’m looking forward to reading the books as well!).

  • As a 20-year-old who has been struggling with an eating disorder for about six months now .

I have felt incredibly alone in my journey. I felt like no one understands what I have been going through, and that it is not just a simple fix. This Butterflywish basket not only was extremely generous and comforting, but it has let me know that I am not alone. I am so grateful that I reached out and found Cheryl and her organization.

  • I want to thank Flutters of Hope for the Butterflywish Grant and Butterflywish Basket.

I want to thank Flutters of Hope for the Butterflywish Grant and Butterflywish Basket. After going through residential, PHP, and IOP I was struggling to pay the costs of that treatment as well as my weekly outpatient treatment team appointments. The grant you provided lifts a huge weight off my shoulders and allows me to focus solely on my recovery. The wish basket along with the kind and inspiring words meant so much to me and my recovery journey. Recovery at home can be difficult and the gift crate not only brightened my weeks but gave me that reminder to keep pushing through even when it's hard. Thank you, Cheryl and Annalise, for providing support to me and many others fighting and recovering from an eating disorder. I am truly grateful.

  • I just received the Wish Basket and Grant

I just received the Wish Basket and Grant and cannot tell you how grateful I am for what you gave me. My recovery outside of treatment has had its ups and downs and your kindness and generosity have brightened my week and reminded me how important it is to keep fighting. Annalise's card in the wish basket was so moving to know that I am not alone, and the words of encouragement were so thoughtful.

  • An Incredible organization!

An Incredible organization! My daughter was diagnosed almost 4 years ago and knowing nothing about this disease, how to approach it and during the pandemic of covid, our entire family was affected. I can honestly say the most scary and difficult time of my life of being a mom. Dr appts, therapist appts, and nutritionist appts have put a hardship on our family even with a good health insurance plan. Receiving a Butterflywish Grant from Flutters of Hope has enormously helped with her treatments. We are beyond grateful to Cheryl, Annalise, and the generous supporters. THANK YOU!

I received a basket from flutters of hope and I really appreciate each of the items. It really is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen!! This basket really has uplifted my spirit here by knowing others, including yourself, overcome this battle. I really love the elephant, it’s very comforting. The cards help keep my mind off it, and I love coloring and sketching so thank you. This basket is so thoughtful and truly gives me hope.

  • My family just wanted to say a big thank you to Flutters of Hope.

My family just wanted to say a big thank you to Flutters of Hope. In July our daughter XXX was admitted to Albany Med for emetophobia which resulted her in losing almost 20% of her body weight in 2 months. In our second day in the hospital, XXX was feeling defeated and scared and then your crate was given to her and I’ll never forget the smile on her face and how grateful we felt that someone took the time to put this all together for her. The handwritten note was so powerful, and I believe it really started her turnaround. She ended up getting discharged days early and is still making steady progress to a full recovery. I cannot express in words our appreciation for your generosity and care for people in similar situations.

  • Raising a child with an Eating Disorder

Raising a child with an eating disorder has been so challenging. Little do others realize how much it effects every single aspect of one life, school, social, family trips, siblings and finances. This grant not only helps ease the financial burden but it gives us so much encouragement and strength knowing there are others who truly care and recognize the silent battle our child and family goes through on a daily basis. Thank you so much.
