Cheryl has devoted her career and personal life to helping others, drawing on her experiences as a mother of four to shape her understanding of compassion, support, and advocacy. Her personal journey navigating the challenges families face, particularly around eating disorders, has deepened her commitment to making a difference for others in similar situations.

With a Master's degree in Counseling Education, Cheryl played an active role in supporting her daughter's recovery from an eating disorder, using her knowledge and determination to guide their family through a difficult time. This experience has fueled her passion for advocating for families and individuals facing similar challenges.

Professionally, Cheryl is a Resource Specialist at Tri CountyCare, where she brings over 18 years of experience in case management for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. She has worked tirelessly to ensure these individuals receive the care and support they need, enriching the lives of many through her dedication.

In addition to her professional work, Cheryl has been an integral part of the local sports community for more than 30 years as a swim coach. Currently coaching at the Schenectady Saratoga Swim Club, she takes pride in helping young swimmers grow and achieve their goals, always striving to mentor and encourage them.

Cheryl also finds personal fulfillment in outdoor activities, having completed over 52 Adirondack lake swims, and enjoys hiking and cross-country skiing. Her connection to nature provides a balance in her life, offering peace and renewal.

Spending time with her family, especially at their lake house, is something Cheryl values deeply. She enjoys sharing these moments with her loved ones and their dogs, creating cherished memories together.

In 2019, Cheryl founded Flutters of Hope Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Through this initiative, she continues to provide vital resources and build a supportive community for those on their journey to recovery.
